The first (perhaps annual) LABC Chili Cook-Off was a “heated” success! What a delightful fellowship! Over 50 people attended the the prayer celebration service and chili supper. There were 12 pots of chili entered in the cook-off, and all who attended were invited to sample and vote for their favorite chili concoction. All recipes were delicious, but Arch DeBoard, Faye Owens and Sally Reed took top honors when the votes were tallied. Even Tracy Reed’s “White Castle Chili” garnered four favorite votes! The youth helped serve and $280 was raised for their mission trip to New York City. Thanks to Cindy Peck, who organized the event, the youth for helping, those who submitted their entries, and all who support the youth by participating.
