Dear Parents and Youth,
The 2010 Mission trip team did a great job sharing their testimonies this past Sunday. If you missed it, make sure to watch it on the church web site. Check out the photos that James uploaded on the web site. I also have more pics that I will add later.
The softball season disappointingly came to an abrupt halt. We only had seven players show up for the opening tournament game (you need eight minimum) and had to forfeit. I realize that some were on vacation, and there were some injuries, but keep in mind that even playing on the softball team is a commitment, especially for the tournament! Not only were teammates disappointed, but we had at least a dozen or more fans come out to support the team from the church! Make sure to be aware of the softball schedule next season in advance, and make it a priority to present for the tournament. We will be returning almost all of our players next season, and I am sure with commitment, we will be competitive. Thanks to coach Pete DeWilde for his time, effort and patience with the team.

HELP WANTED: This Sunday, James needs youth helpers to go to Sunrise Assisted Living facility to help lead the worship services. No special talent is needed. In most cases, you will only worship along with the residents, and visit with them. It takes place at 2pm at 3500 Riverside Drive. Contact James Mann for details.
BE A MISSIONARY: I have gotten no response on this, but I am not giving up! Good News Club leaders are needed! Be a missionary in your own neighborhood! Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is expanding to Tremont Elementary School in UA. The local representative for CEF in UA would like for LABC to be the sponsor church for this ministry. I need a couple of adults and youth (and graduates) to commit for this school year. It only takes place once a week after school. Please prayerfully consider this ministry and the impact we can have on our church community and the children and families associated with Tremont Elementary. This is also an opportunity to invite families to LABC, and grow our church. There is a training event on Sept. 11. Contact me ASAP if you are interested.

I will be taking a little time off this weekend, so Peter Wassenaar will be in charge of Sunday school. I look forward to seeing you next Sunday.
Sincerely in Christ,
Tracy

HOW IS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD RESTORED THROUGH CHRIST? How is your relationship with God? Would you describe it as confrontational, casual, distant, or intimate and loving? Thankfully, our Savior bridges the gap! Jesus removed the sin that made us God’s enemies, and he brings us into an intimate relationship with the Father. Please read the daily scripture passages in advance. It won’t take long!
